Our History
as a single hospital. Over the last 100 years, it has developed into an extensive health delivery system to provide compassionate care to patients and families, regardless of socioeconomic factors.
In addition to its six hospitals, encompasses a home health agency, outpatient facilities, ambulatory surgery centers, hospice residence and physician practices to meet the needs of residents in the greater Memphis area.

In March 2003, Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare partnered with the University of Memphis to create the Methodist Le Bonheur Center for Healthcare Economics. The center was established as a result of the shared understanding between MLH and the University of Memphis of the importance of educating the public about the impact that healthcare has on the economy. This collaboration ensures that students have the accessibility to research and study the efficiency, effectiveness, and equity of healthcare practices and their related costs. The Center for Healthcare Economics accomplishes this combined goal through a number of internship, instruction, and public service programs, the purpose of which are to empower students to conceptualize and develop ethical policy solutions to benefit all in need of healthcare services.
