Curricular Practical Training (CPT)/Extension
Curricular Practical Training (CPT) is a work authorization that allows F-1 students to work off-campus. The work must be an integral part of the established curriculum.
Optional Practical Training (OPT)/Extension
Optional Practical Training (OPT) is a temporary work authorization allows F-1 students to participate in employment that is directly related to their major of study. OPT includes Pre-completion OPT, Post-completion OPT, and STEM OPT Extension.
OPT/CPT Workshops
The International Student Services office will present several OPT and CPT workshops
for F-1 visa students covering the application process, eligibility to apply, types
of employment, and what to expect after applying.
