University of Memphis School of Public Health Rises in U.S. News & World Report 2025-26 Rankings
April 8, 2025 - In the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings published, the University of Memphis School of Public Health stands at number 99 out of 219 ranked schools and programs of public health nationwide, featured among the top 100 schools and programs. The school moved up four spots in its national standing from last year鈥檚 ranking of #103, a direct reflection of its strong commitment and impact.
The school started several innovative initiatives including the nation鈥檚 first public health dual enrollment program in high schools, launch of public health clubs locally and globally, established the nation鈥檚 first public health diplomacy lab and organized the first public health diplomacy summit with participation from 15 countries, as well as the WHO and World Federation of United Nations.
榴莲直播 School of Public Health has also developed significant partnerships in collaboration with Shelby County Health Department, Tennessee Department of Health, Juvenile Court, Memphis Shelby County Schools and hundreds of other community organizations towards creating a meaningful impact in the community at large.
The school expanded its global footprint by fostering collaborations with institutes around the world including in India, Portugal, Malta, Peru, and Saudi Arabia. 鈥淥ver the last 2 years, the University of Memphis School of Public Health with its vision of 鈥淪PH CARES鈥� is advancing towards a community engaged school of public health, anchor institute, offering research-based solutions, being entrepreneurial and innovative and student centric," says Dean Ashish Joshi.
In the last 2 years, SPH has shown an over 20% increase in student enrollment, enhanced research funding from roughly $2 million to $27 million, expanded its faculty size from 16 to 31, established new offices of recruitment and admissions, experiential learning and career readiness, student engagement and communications. 鈥淲e are committed to making impact in the community through academic excellence, meaningful research, and creating new innovative opportunities for students and expand and strengthen our community partnerships,鈥� adds Dean Ashish Joshi.
The U.S. News & World Report rankings are based on votes cast by the academic leaders of all public health schools and programs around the country. Respondents rate the academic quality of the programs on a scale of 1 (marginal) to 5 (outstanding).
