Dr. Harold "Hal" Price Scholarship Awarded

by Tori Wolfe

Ebony Berry, a second year Speech-Language Pathology graduate student, is the first recipient of the Dr. Harold A. β€œHal” Price Scholarship. This scholarship was created to support graduate students pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology. The recipient was required to be in good academic standing with at least a 3.0 grade point average and demonstrate need. As part of the School’s diversity initiative, special consideration was given to students from under-represented groups in the SLP profession. The scholarship was competitive, and the recipient was determined by a selection committee appointed by the Dean of the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. When asked about her thoughts on being the first recipient of this scholarship, Berry expressed, β€œI feel honored to be the first recipient of such a meaningful award. This scholarship has helped reduce my financial strain. It is my hope that the University continues to provide opportunities for the student body.” Congratulations, Ebony!
