event where voices meet hands and
change begins.
About
In honor of Deaf Awareness Month, join us for an
interactive event that brings together Deaf and Hard of
Hearing community members and service providers to
address healthcare challenges. This event aims to
foster connections, share stories, and explore ways to
improve access to language, tools and resources across
the Mid-South.
Free and open to the public. ASL Interpreters and free
hearing screening will be provided.

Spasmodic Dysphonia Support Group 
What is Spasmodic Dysphonia?
- A rare neurological voice disorder caused by the brain
sending abnormal signals to the vocal folds. - Also referred to as a βlaryngeal dystonia,β SD is
characterized by involuntary movement of the vocal folds. - SD is NOT a psychological problem.
- SD is incurable.
- SD affects about 4 people out of every 100,000 individuals
Why Come to the Support Group?
- Meet other people with SD.
- Hear others share their experiences with treatment options.
- Learn more about SD.
- Express your struggles with people who understand them
