Faculty Awards
Faculty Academic Advising Award
This annual award recognizes a faculty member who has demonstrated exceptional academic advising and a strong commitment to student success. The recipient will receive a $300 cash prize and a commemorative plaque. Two runners-up will each receive a $100 cash prize and a commemorative plaque.
The award recipients will be announced at the Fall Faculty Meeting.

Benjamin W. Rawlins, Jr. Meritorious Professorship Award
This distinguished award honors the legacy of Benjamin W. Rawlins, Jr., former Chairman and CEO of Union Planters Corporation, for his enduring impact on the Memphis community. As one of the highest honors in the College of Communication and Fine Arts (CCFA), the professorship recognizes faculty whose work exemplifies excellence and brings distinction to the College and the University.
Open to associate and full professors in CCFA with at least eight (8) years of service, the award recognizes outstanding and sustained contributions in scholarly or creative activity, teaching, service, and outreach.
The professorship includes an annual stipend of $8,000, one commemorative plaque and may be awarded for one or two years. It supports continued efforts to elevate the national and international profile of the College, the University, and the broader community.
Each CCFA department and the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music is encouraged to submit at least one nomination. Nominations may be submitted by faculty, department chairs, or other college administrators. A complete nomination includes a letter of support and the nominee’s current curriculum vitae, emailed to the Associate Dean of Accademic and Student Affairs.
The award recipients will be announced at the Fall Faculty Meeting.

Dean's Award for Creative Achievement
This award recognizes outstanding achievement in the creative arts. Applicants may be self-nominated or nominated by a colleague. Nominations are submitted to the Creative Achievement Award Committee, which will submit recommendations to the CCFA Dean. Previous winners may re-enter after a five-year lapse of time, and there are no limits on how many times previous winners may be nominated. The award includes a $500 cash award and an award plaque. Nominations should be sent to the Associate Dean of the College of Communication and Fine Arts.

Dean's Award for Outstanding Research
This award recognizes outstanding achievement in scholarly research. Applicants may be self-nominated or nominated by a colleague. Nominations are submitted to the Outstanding Research Award Committee, which will submit recommendations to the CCFA Dean.
