Common Holds
These are the administrative holds you are most likely to encounter. Please note that any "hold" that contains 'MSG' is a message; it provides informational text rather than preventing registration- or transcript-related activities.
Financial Responsibility Hold
- Why? You must acknowledge the Financial Responsibility Statement before being allowed to register.
- How to Fix: Acknowledge the financial responsibility statement at . You must do this each registration period—once for Spring and once for Summer and Fall combined.
ÁñÁ«Ö±²¥ tells you which office to contact about removing the hold. Only the office that placed the hold can remove it.
Center for Academic Retention and Enrichment Services (CARES) Holds
- Why? Your academic status requires that you contact the Center for Academic Retention and Enrichment Services (CARES) before being allowed to register. See Academic Standing.

USBS Trnscrpt/Diploma/Grd Hold
- Why? You owe the University money. You have not satisfied all fees and fines. You will not be allowed to request an official transcript or receive a diploma until your fees/fines have been satisfied.

Draft Registration
- Why? Admissions requires proof of your Selective Service registration. Males born January 1, 1960 or later must register with the .

Final HS Transcript
- Why? Admissions has not received your final high school transcript for evaluation. You cannot be fully admitted and register until your transcript has been evaluated.

Grad Probation
- Why? Your academic status requires that you contact your academic advisor before being allowed to register.

Hepatitis B or Meningitis
- Why? Proof of vaccination is required. See Immunization / Hepatitis B - Meningitis.

High School Deficiency
- Why? You did not meet all Tennessee high school requirements.

Intl Hlth Insurance
- Why? Proof of health insurance is required.

Measles
- Why? You were granted a waiver for supplying documentation of two Measles immunizations. However, the waiver period has expired; thus, you cannot register, add, or drop until you supply the required documentation to Student Health Services. See Immunization / MMR for more information on this hold and the steps to take to remove it.

Non-Degree Agreement
- Why? You are required to complete a Graduate Non-Degree Agreement form before enrolling in further graduate courses.

Official College Transcript
- Why? Admissions has not received your transcript(s) from your previous institution(s) for evaluation. You cannot be fully admitted and register until your transcript(s) have been evaluated.

PPD or TB Screen
- Why? Proof of tuberculosis skin testing is required. See Immunization / TB Skin Test.

USBS Registration Only Hold
- Why? You owe the University money. You have not satisfied all fees and fines. You will not be allowed to register for the upcoming term until your fees/fines have been satisfied.

- Why? You must be cleared by Student Accountability before you can be readmitted or register.
