Research Interests
Dr. Brockdorf’s research focuses on behavioral health risk and recovery after trauma,
with an emphasis on sexual assault. She is particularly interested in the connection
between modifiable health behaviors (e.g., alcohol use, sleep) and traumatic stress,
with the aim of identifying novel targets for clinical interventions. She also studies
1) sexual assault prevention, 2) access to care and barriers to service use after
sexual assault, and 3) how alcohol intersects with each of these domains. Dr. Brockdorf's
research has been funded by NIAAA, NIMH, and APA.
