Hooks Institute to examine voting in Tennessee and the nation at annual policy papers

As we head into election season, the Hooks Institute will hold an in-depth discussion Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 6 p.m. on voting rights, voter engagement and apathy and tactics to suppress voting. The event will be held and will be livestreamed on the Hooks Institute鈥檚 Facebook page (@benhooksinstitute).

Dr. Joy V. Goldsmith, UofM professor of Communication Studies and founder and co-director of the UofM Center for Health Literacy and Health Communication, recently received the 2020 Bernard J. Brommel Award for Outstanding Scholarship or Distinguished Service in Family Communication.

of gas-phase ions
Dr. Ranganathan Gopalakrishnan, University of Memphis assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, has received a $363,782 grant from the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science for his research project, 鈥淟angevin Dynamics modeling of gas-phase ion-ion recombination.鈥
